Chinook Enterprises is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1980. We are a non-profit designed to operate as a business, but with a social mission: supporting full participation in community life for people with disabilities or other barriers. About the Position:

This position functions within the Production Division and comes under the direct supervision of the Production Supervisor – Planning. The person employed in this position performs various production expediting tasks. As production requirements vary, this position will be called upon to fill needs as they occur in various areas within the department. The primary function of this position will be the transporting, monitoring, and delivery of contracted assembly or other work as acquired.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Perform daily assigned tasks as directed by Production Supervisor – Planning.
  • Load and unload materials and finished product in van or truck.
  • Transport contracted assembly work to and from customers via company truck or van.
  • Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
  • Seek out and develop additional assembly or other work orders with new and old customers.
  • Report any malfunctioning equipment to the Production Manager. May assist in repair and /or routine maintenance of such equipment.
  • Assist Planning, QA and Production, as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area. Follow company safety standards and report any potential hazards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions as well as navigate safely through traffic.
  • Ability to work independently on sequential and repetitive work routines.
  • Must possess independent decision-making skills regarding products, materials, deliveries and pickups.
  • Must have strong time management skills to efficiently meet the expected deliveries of the assigned jobs.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Safely operate and maintain a forklift.
  • Safely operate and maintain the delivery van or truck.
  • Must be willing to work non-standard working hours when contract needs demand.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, ERP or related software with the ability to learn to utilize new technologies.
  • Ability to adhere to corporate policies as detailed in the Employee Policies and Procedures Handbook.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as Expeditor/Driver, Shipping and Receiving Clerk or equivalent.
  • Forklift experience preferred.

Certificates

  • Required to submit and pass a Washington State Patrol background check as well as a DSHS background check.
  • Required Washington State Driver’s license, basic vehicle liability insurance and be insurable.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to sit in a vehicle while driving for extended periods of time. Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle; bend and reach with hands and arms; lift; bend; use feet to operate foot pedal operation; reach above shoulder level; stoop; kneel; crouch and squat. Specific vision abilities required by this job close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly indoors or in a vehicle and moderately exposed to outdoor conditions. The noise level in the work environment is generally low. During short intervals, may work around dust and fumes from glues, resins, sealants and other bonding agents. Appropriate personal protective equipment is required, by area.

SALARY & BENEFITS

Level 0 (In Training) Starting Wage: $18.00 – $21.74 per hour DOE

As an incentive, Chinook Enterprises will be offering a $1,000 hiring bonus to successful new hires who maintain employment for at least 6 months and in good standing.
