Chinook Enterprises is a social enterprise – we are a non-profit designed to operate as a business, but with a social mission: Supporting full participation in community life for people with disabilities or other barriers. Full participation must start with successful employment.

We believe that the need to be connected with one’s community and to be a responsible citizen is at the core of each person. Each of us can relate to the importance of having a place to contribute…to feel valued… and for most of us, that means a job.

For many people with disabilities, finding that place can be challenging. Barriers to employment success are varied and include inadequate transportation, lack of experience, communication challenges, community acceptance and more.

With help and support, these barriers can be minimized and dreams realized.

Since 1980, our Employment Specialist teams have been making matches between worker and employer. In fact, Chinook Enterprises has helped place more than 1,000 people in jobs with more than 200 local companies!


According to a national consumer survey, 87% of the public would give their business to companies that hire people with disabilities. This is only one of the many benefits employers derive from hiring our clients.

Grounds Maintenance

Our Grounds and Landscaping Division has provided exceptional year-round commercial landscaping and maintenance services in Skagit County since 1980. Every week our division team cares for more than 12 facilities comprising more than 300 acres.

Chinook Enterprises welcomes New HR Manager

Amy Franta Wilson, SPHR, SHRM-SCP as its new Human Resources Manager earlier this month. Wilson replaced Denise Childs, who recently retired.


Help Save Chinook's Ground Maintenance Division

Chinook Enterprises is a social enterprise based in Mount Vernon supporting people with various disabilities. After 40 years of providing excellent landscape maintenance service Chinook may be forced to shut its Ground Maintenance Division in March.


Zack McAdams wins Applebee's Award

Zack McAdams recalls his first interview for a job at Applebee's in 2012. "They wanted to hire me on the spot!" he said with a smile.
