Chinook Enterprises welcomed Amy Franta Wilson, SPHR, SHRM-SCP as its new Human Resources Manager earlier this month.
Wilson replaced Denise Childs, who recently retired.
When asked about her new position, Wilson replied, “Everyone has been gracious and welcoming. I feel like I’ve been working here forever.”
Wilson has a 15-year career working with non-profits including KCTS Channel 9, Life Center Northwest, and The Seattle School. She now brings her diverse expertise to Chinook Enterprises.
“We are grateful to have found Amy. She has made a seamless transition into the organization and is a bringing some new ideas in support of our expanding vision for the future at Chinook Enterprises,” said CEO Steve Reed.
Wilson is president of Skagit Island Human Resources Management Association (SIHRMA) an organization dedicated to the education of human resources professionals. SIHRMA ensures the delivery of educational opportunities to members striving to stay current on state and federal laws affecting employment relationships. “The human resources area of study is complex and ever-changing, which makes for a challenging, interesting and fun career.”
