At Chinook Enterprises, we believe that full participation in community life begins with meaningful employment. Our Community Employment Services (CES) team lives this mission every day. They work to connect individuals with disabilities or other barriers to jobs that support personal growth, strengthen independence, and create lasting impact.
Who We Are
The CES team includes dedicated Employment Specialists (ES’s) who serve more than 230 individuals each year across Skagit County. These ES’s are more than job coaches. They’re career navigators, advocates, and champions for inclusion. Whether helping someone discover their strengths, prepare for interviews, or succeed on the job, our team is there every step of the way.
What We Do
Our services are tailored to each person’s unique journey. We begin with discovery, learning about the individual’s interests, skills, and goals. From there, we offer assessments, job development, site analysis, and ongoing coaching. Every placement is an integrated, competitive-wage position. Every success is a shared celebration!
We partner with organizations like the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA), and local schools to build strong support networks. Our recent expansion into a shared space with the Mount Vernon School District and Northwest Career & Technical Academy has allowed us to serve even more students and job seekers.
Why It Matters
In 2024, our CES team served 230 customers across the region. But it’s not just about numbers. It’s about impact. Our ES’s help individuals gain independence, build confidence, and contribute meaningfully to their communities. They also support local businesses by identifying strong job matches and fostering inclusive workplaces.
From seasoned professionals to new faces, our team is diverse, passionate, and deeply committed to the mission. Each team member has a story, a drive, and a reason for doing this work.
Looking Ahead
With expanded office space, growing partnerships, and a renewed commitment to innovation, our CES team is ready to serve even more individuals in the coming year. We’re exploring new service offerings, including independent living and community inclusion supports, and continuing to advocate for employment for all.
