Coming Together for Growth and Connection at our Annual Shutdown Day

Each Fall, Chinook Enterprises closes its building for a full day of learning, connection, and celebration. This year’s Shutdown Day took place at Northwest Career and Technical Academy (NCTA), bringing together Board and staff from across departments for a shared experience focused on diversity, inclusion, and team building.

The day began with a hot breakfast buffet and a warm welcome from leadership. Staff danced along with inspiring speakers including Pam Kuntz, an educator and choreographer, and Daman Wandke, an entrepreneur and advocate living with cerebral palsy. Their stories brought fresh perspectives and sparked meaningful conversations about inclusion and accessibility.

Throughout the day, team members participated in team building activities, reviewed survey results and strategic planning goals, and engaged in hands-on puzzles designed to strengthen collaboration.

Shutdown Day is more than a training. It is a chance to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the mission that drives Chinook forward.  The energy was high, the food was delicious, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive.   We are grateful to everyone who helped make this day a success and look forward to continuing the tradition next year!
