We had a smokin’ fun time at this year’s Employee BBQ, and we want to take a moment to reflect on the fun, camaraderie, and team spirit that made it such a memorable event!
These BBQs are about more than just filling your tummy – they’re an essential part of our company culture. Events like this give everyone the chance to step away from their screens, desks, mowers, and drill presses, and connect in a more casual setting, strengthening relationships that help us work better together every day. By getting to know each other outside of the office, we create a more collaborative and supportive environment that benefits all of us. Plus, at Chinook we love to EAT!
Highlights from the 2024BBQ:
Fun Yard Games: Packed with friendly competition and team bonding, we served up classic yard games like cornhole and ladder toss. Activities encouraged folks to team up, have fun, and enjoy some light-hearted competition. Whether you were playing or cheering from the sidelines, the energy was contagious! Next year…pickle ball? (My money is on the Grounds team for the win).
Great Food and Music: This year, we were thrilled to partner with Brando’s BBQ for some mouthwatering pulled pork, which was a hit with everyone! In true community spirit, the rest of the food was potluck style, with employees bringing a variety of delicious side dishes, desserts, and drinks. From homemade salsa to decadent desserts, the spread showcased the diverse culinary talents of our team and added a personal touch to the event.
To match the relaxed, outdoor vibe, we went with a luau-style music playlist, featuring tropical tunes and island rhythms that set the perfect tone for a laid-back afternoon. The cheerful Islander melodies and beach-inspired beats kept everyone in a festive mood, helping us unwind and enjoy the day together. Next year’s budget could include a hammock or two.
Raffles and Prizes: We held a raffle and offered prizes which added an extra layer of excitement and showed our appreciation for everyone’s participation.
