Finding the Right Fit: Joni’s Path to Long-Term Success in Environmental Services

For more than a year, Joni has been working a full-time, 40-hour week at Crothall Healthcare as an Environmental Services Technician. Each evening, she is responsible for cleaning half of the Skagit Regional Health Business Center. Her work includes taking out garbage, vacuuming, sanitizing conference rooms, dusting, and handling a wide range of housekeeping tasks that keep the space clean, safe, and welcoming.

Joni approaches her job with care and focus. She takes pride in doing her work accurately and maintaining a high level of quality. She is known for working quickly and efficiently while still paying attention to the details that matter. When new tasks are introduced, Joni picks them up fast. She has a strong memory, learns routines quickly, and is not afraid to ask questions if something is unclear. That balance of independence and knowing when to ask for help has been key to her success.

Her strong work ethic has been consistent throughout her career. Before joining Crothall Healthcare, Joni worked as a Food Service Worker at Skagit Regional Health, a Deli Clerk at Haggen, and spent 18 years as an Assembler with Clearsnap until the company closed. Each role added to her skills and experience, helping her grow into the dependable and capable employee she is today.

One of the things Joni values most about her current job is the sense of connection. She has built friendships with coworkers she looks forward to seeing each night, and that feeling is mutual. Joni enjoys helping her friends and teammates whenever she can, and her positive presence has made her a valued part of the workplace.

Joni is a graduate of Concrete High School and enjoys living and working in Skagit County. Outside of work, she likes staying busy with hands on activities, especially home improvement projects and diamond painting. These interests reflect the same patience, focus, and pride she brings to her job every day.

Joni’s story is a great example of what long-term employment success can look like when someone’s strengths are matched with the right opportunity and the right supports. Her commitment, independence, and pride in her work continue to make a meaningful impact for her employer and her coworkers.
